Summer collage

This is my summer collage. First the entire full sheet of watercolor paper was painted with a warm golden color mixed with splashes of turquoise and white acrylic. After this dried I added the collage pieces (sunflower painting, leaves, ocean painting, dragonfly stamps, music sheet, feathers, and letters.) Try doing a summer collage of your own!

I keep pieces of old paintings around to use in making collages. Usually I keep pieces of similar colors together in a plastic baggie. Then when I feel like painting a collage, I will arrange various size pieces on a sheet of watercolor paper. When I'm satisfied with the design, I glue them down on the paper, let it dry and add various shapes, colors and designs with watercolor. Sometimes I use stamping or pastels in the final design also. I called this one "Fall Sonata".
