Spring

Spring is not too far away and I was thinking about tulips and other flowers and created this design of red and white tulips. I wanted the back ground to be something a little different so decided to add the geometrical shapes later. I love the way the large circle appears as a moon in the background and goes along with the theme of nature and the changing seasons.

face in the sky

I was working on a painting the other day and I was trying to find the perfect sky to complement the painting (it was for a piece commissioned by a dear friend of mine and I wanted to find just the perfect sky!) Anyway, I went through my files of photographs and was just amazed at the variety of sky photos I have taken over the years! The interesting thing is that many were taken of the same view but each one was very different. Sometimes the sky was quiet and thoughtful; other times it was violent and colorful with clouds churning in turmoil. Some of the pictures showed a soft hazy sky with a few wispy clouds and others were of colorful sunsets at various stages with no two pictures the same. Then I found this picture I had taken a long time ago when I lived in Ellensburg, Washington of clouds that looked like a face in the sky (the white speck is a flaw on the photo). It was quite amazing and I have never seen another like it (so far).
