Here's another painting done this summer with the "Plein Air" painting group. These nasturtiums were growing in the gardens at McMenimans Edgefield in Troutdale, Oregon. There were lots of interesting things to sketch, paint or take pictures of there. I enjoyed the quirky buildings and the many gardens and views on the property. This is just a small part of it, but I thought they were so beautiful!

Yikes! I can't believe I haven't posted anything since July! Where did the time go? I did finish some more paintings since then and am especially fond of this one depicting the scenery of the Palouse country between Pullman, Washington and Spokane. I love the contrasting colors of the golden wheat fields and the blue mountains in the distance. The country has a certain spaciousness and loneliness and farms are few and far between in some stretches.
